Regional and territorial development is a matter of great importance to public authorities and all citizens alike, given its direct impact on the daily lives of the population and its close link to broader economic and social development—particularly human development. Integrating local communities and regional/territorial development into a national development strategy occurs gradually, in parallel with broader shifts in the country’s political, economic, social, and cultural landscape. In this context—and within the framework of “advanced regionalization” and constitutional and political reforms that have granted regional Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Services significant authority in managing and promoting local and regional economic affairs—the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region has commissioned a study on the region’s economic ecosystems.
This study aims to shed light on the challenges the region faces regarding economic take-off at the territorial level. It seeks to identify the best strategic proposals for defining and developing economic ecosystems that complement national economic systems. The goal is to enhance the competitiveness of companies within the regional context by fostering an environment conducive to business development and job creation. Furthermore, it aims to boost the region’s overall attractiveness by proposing pathways and guidelines that enable decision-makers and managers of competitive clusters to secure strategic partnerships, based on a sound methodological framework. The study draws upon local and regional assets, incorporating a rigorous analysis of available resources and future requirements—with a particular focus on human resources and training needs—as essential pillars for supporting development. The region’s economic base.
